NiSource Inc. is offering a 12-week Summer Substation Engineering - Civil Intern position based in Merrillville, IN. The internship starts in May 2027 and is available to students entering their junior or senior year in fall 2027.

Qualifications

Current student of an ABET-accredited four-year Electrical or Civil engineering program.
Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
Ability to work 40 hrs/week.
Proficiency with PC applications and strong skills with AutoCad and MS Excel & Access.
Proven communication skills.
Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist with projects to meet various utility facility needs.
Evaluate, design, estimate, and provide project management of electric and gas facilities as needed.
Create job order sketches using AutoCad.
Collect and analyze data and review records.
Perform field measurements.
Assemble data to create job order estimates.
