Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for a Summer 2027 Structural Engineering Intern. This full-time internship focuses on structural engineering for buildings and building-like structures in multiple locations, including Seattle, WA, and other West Coast sites.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Structural or Civil Engineering undergraduate program in the United States with anticipated graduation Jan 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in structural engineering and desire to develop skills related to WSP’s projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.
• Committed to workplace safety and adhering to WSP’s policies.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of structural engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations/analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
