Job summary

Headfirst Summer Camps is seeking a Sprouting Scientists Counselor for the summer season in Washington. You will lead small- group STEM and creative arts activities with a co-counselor, following a pre-written curriculum and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• If you are between 16-18 years old, apply for our Junior Counselor role.
• Able to work around small children for the full day.
• Lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Committed to adhering to the Cell-Phone Free policy during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Bring Camp to Life with enthusiasm and hands-on engagement.
• Lead a group of ~20 campers with a co-counselor following a planned schedule.
• Teach pre-written curriculum for the Innovators, Inc. and Sprouting Scientists programs.
• Implement Headfirst safety protocols on supervision, bathrooms, emergency medications, and camper behavior management.
• Lead morning meetings, group games, free play, and age-appropriate activities.
• Support staff during field trips and expert workshops and participate in afternoon program meetings.
• Manage carpool responsibilities and warmly welcome families to camp.
