Mount Hermon Association Incorporated’s Ponderosa Lodge Lifeguard role focuses on protecting the safety of campers and staff at the pools while modeling a Christ-centered lifestyle. It is a ministerial position aligned with MHA Youth vision and values.

The role requires prior lifeguard experience and active certifications (ARC CPR, AED, First Aid, Lifeguard). You will support outdoor activities, assist with camper intake, and coordinate with the Lifeguard Lead on safety and program integrity.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification required.
• College experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the intake and screening of campers weekly.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all campers and staff using the pools and enforce pool rules.
• Care for and maintain all pool areas with logs and readings up to date.
• Promptly report hazards or dangerous situations to the PL Lifeguard Lead.
• Other duties as assigned by the PL Lifeguard Lead.

Position Objective:The PL Lifeguard ensures the safety and well-being of campers and staff swimming, and is responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing for campers with an experience that aligns with the MHA Youth vision and PL’s objectives in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.General Qualifications:The Ponderosa Lodge (“PL”) Lifeguard is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming MHA’s Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats.
