Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking an IT Software Engineer Internship for Summer 2027 at the Helpful Smiles Technology Center in Grimes, IA. We’re looking for innovators who want to turn ideas into real solutions using Agile methods to support e-commerce, mobile development, and data analytics.

The internship offers hands-on experience in design, development, testing, reporting with SQL Server, and cross-functional teamwork across technology and business units.

Qualifications

• Candidate is pursuing or has graduated in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Willing to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development team to receive technical guidance.
• Design and develop business applications.
• Develop unit tests for existing applications.
• Develop reports using Microsoft Reporting Services.
• Support research projects with data retrieval and analysis using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Adhere to coding standards.
• Report to work on schedule.
