Position Overview

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking year-round Lifeguards at the YMCA facility located at Arapahoe Ridge, Erie, CO. If you are not certified, please visit our lifeguard classes at https://www.ymcanoco.org/lifeguard-cpr-certification/lifeguarding.

Salary & Benefits

Salary ranges from $16.50 to $18.50/hour, depending on experience. Bilingual staff fluent in Spanish and English receive an additional 10% differential. Benefits include a free family membership, program discounts, retirement benefits (12%), employee assistance, and paid sick time.

Location & Hours

Arapahoe Ridge, 1750 Powell St, Erie, CO 80516

Hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11:45 am - 6:15 pm

Responsibilities

1. Advocate for the safety and wellbeing of members and guests, maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment.
2. Ensure safety in and around the pool and hot tub areas.
3. Perform general maintenance, water testing, and troubleshoot issues.
4. Relate positively with diverse groups including staff, members, and children.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16; applicants aged 15 should apply as Junior Lifeguards.
• Current ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen, and CPR certifications.
• Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful demeanor.
• Blood Borne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire.
