Job summary

Munich Re America Services (MRAS) invites current undergraduates and graduate students to join the Corporate Reserving Actuarial Intern – Summer 2027 in Princeton, NJ or New York City, NY. You will collaborate with Actuarial Analysts and Actuaries on reserving projects and develop data visualization and presentation skills for quarterly monitoring activities.

Qualifications

• Open to all undergraduate and graduate students.
• Preferred majors: Actuarial Science, Data Science/Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics. Also accepting: Accounting, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Law, Physics or any other STEM major
• Successful completion of one CAS/SOA actuarial exam is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal and informal presentation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including clear thinking, curiosity, integrity, and drive.
• Enthusiasm for learning and an interest in the P&C reinsurance industry.
• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Support segment-level reserving analyses, including technical checks of actuarial analyses, large-loss research, and loss development pattern selections.
• Assist with the development of quarterly monitoring analyses and presentations.
• Work closely with an Actuary on a reserving project and collaborate with Actuarial Analysts, Actuaries, and other key individuals across the department.
• Analyze and visualize data to communicate findings clearly and support management decision-making.
• Deliver an end-of-internship presentation to the department.
