Gundersen Health System and Emplify Health invite undergraduates to a paid 11-week Summer Research Fellowship in La Crosse, WI. You will work in clinical or laboratory research alongside physicians, researchers and biostatisticians, gaining practical experience and exposure to a range of activities including shadowing and journal clubs.

Eligibility includes completing junior year by Spring 2027, a minimum 3.2 GPA, and a commitment to pursuing healthcare or research.

2027 Summer Research Fellowship Paid Undergraduate Research Opportunity | Summer 2027 Launch your healthcare research career with Emplify Health by Gundersen and the Gundersen Medical Foundation.

This 11-week, paid fellowship provides undergraduate students with hands‑on experience in clinical or laboratory research while working alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, research scientists, and biostatisticians.

Program Highlights

• Compensation: $17.20 per hour
• Dates: June 1 to August 13, 2027
• Location: La Crosse, WI (in-person)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Research Tracks: Clinical Research: Electronic medical record data retrieval and analysis
• Laboratory Research: Hands‑on experimental research
• Additional Opportunities: Shadowing, orthopedic casting experiences, imaging exercises, labor and delivery simulations, research lectures, and journal club

• Completion of junior year by Spring 2027
• Minimum GPA of 3.2
• Interest in pursuing a healthcare or research‑related career
