The City of Oakland Park is seeking an entry-level recreation assistant to support day-to-day operations of youth and leisure programs. You will help supervise activities, greet participants, and respond to information requests while ensuring safety and courteous service across facilities and programs.
Applicants should be at least 18, pass a background screening, and may hold a High School Diploma or GED. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred to assist in childcare and activity supervision.

Provides entry-level assistance in the delivery and conduct of recreational programs and leisure services activities for the City. Assignment areas include, but are not necessarily limited to, aquatics programs, youth and summer camp programs, arts and crafts, and leisure services. Essential job duties, as outlined herein, are performed according to the area of assignment.

High School Diploma/GED
Valid State of Florida Class “E” Driver’s License
Pediatric/Child CPR & First Aid Certification
One-year experience in a childcare program or two-years’ experience as a counselor in training
40 hours of Child Care Training with transcripts
