Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking an R&D intern to work alongside food scientists in developing new products and processes for beef, pork and chicken. You’ll be exposed to manufacturing processes across Tyson’s family of brands, with projects aimed at cost-saving, quality improvement, profitability, and competitiveness.

The internship concludes with a brief report and presentation summarizing results. Length: 12 weeks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (incoming junior, or senior) or master's degree program in good standing required.
• Degree in food or meat science related fields preferred, but will consider other related majors.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Supervisory Skills: None

Responsibilities

• Assist in product development by working with food scientists on beef, pork and chicken projects.
• Contribute to cost-saving, quality improvement, profitability, innovation, and product competitiveness initiatives.
• Prepare a brief report and presentation summarizing project results at internship end.
