General Motors is seeking a motivated student to join the Energy and Propulsion Systems Research team as a Summer Intern in aftertreatment catalysis. The intern will contribute to research supporting next-generation automotive emissions-control technologies, including catalyst performance, durability, materials development, reaction kinetics, system modeling, and data-driven materials discovery.

• Must be pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in a STEM field such as chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science/engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, data science, physics.
• Interest in heterogeneous catalysis, reaction engineering, emissions control, or materials science, plus lab experimentation and analytical characterization.
• Experience with mathematical modeling, scientific computing, or data science/ML is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Design, conduct, and analyze laboratory experiments for catalyst evaluation.
• Prepare samples and support testing using reactor systems and analytical tools.
• Develop reaction-kinetic and system-level models; analyze experimental data with Python or MATLAB.
• Apply ML/optimization to catalyst and materials datasets; build data-driven screening tools.
• Document methods and present findings to research teams; collaborate across GM groups.
