Job summary

General Mills in Buffalo, NY seeks a Quality Lab Assistant (QLA) for a 3-month summer temporary assignment. The role offers a daytime shift (approximately 7:00am–3:00pm) with potential weekend work.

You will gain exposure to food safety, quality, and sanitation projects while learning lab technician duties. The position requires a BS/BA in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial/Quality Engineering, Food Science or Chemistry, a GPA of 3.0+, and flexibility to support 2nd or 3rd shifts to assist 24-7

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in school, work, or extracurricular activities.
• Open to work alternative shifts (2nd shift or 3rd shift) to support 24-7 operations of the plant.
• GPA 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute assigned projects in food safety, quality, and sanitation.
• Learn the lab technician role and responsibilities and support operations.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance or Logistics as needed to complete assignments.
• Learn the production process and develop relationships with the production team.
• Lead capability studies and shadow Quality Engineers to learn daily activities.
