McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is offering a 2027 Summer Internship in Southern California. Interns join an active project team, learn on-site management, and report to the Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager on-site.

The internship provides hands-on experience in construction processes and leadership development. Duties include assisting with General Contract and Subcontract administration, exposure to scheduling, procurement, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and piping

Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior standing currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related major.
• Valid interest in pursuing a career in Construction/Project Management is required.
• Willingness to relocate and/or commute for the internship duration is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist team with General Contract and Subcontract administration
• Exposure to Construction Scheduling
• Material & Equipment procurement and expediting
• Mechanical, electrical and piping systems coordination
• Shop drawing and submittal review and coordination
• Participation in and documentation of project coordination meetings
• Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
• Maintenance of As-Built plans
• Exposure to and monitoring of quality control - field and shop
• Monitor and document job-site safety and accident prevention
