Job summary

W.E. O'Neil Construction seeks a Summer Project Engineer Intern to learn on a commercial site in Phoenix, AZ. You will assist in updating schedules, coordinating procurement, and maintaining project documentation under the guidance of a project manager.

You'll gain hands-on experience with CMiC and PlanGrid, while developing basic cost tracking, submittal and RFI processes, and effective communication within the team.

Qualifications

• This is an entry-level position designed for undergraduate students and those seeking growth into management roles.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
• Basic understanding of scheduling and CMiC applications is expected.
• Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Familiarity with construction administration processes (documents, schedules, RFIs, submittals, procurement) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist superintendent and project manager in creating, updating, and maintaining the project critical path schedule.
• Review the procurement schedule and manage subcontractor/vendor shop drawings and submittals for approval.
• Maintain project documentation and expedite to owner, architect, and engineers for approval.
• Assist in procuring equipment and materials and track their delivery.
• Calculate and maintain self-performed work quantities and costs to track budgets.
