Job summary

W.E. O’Neil is seeking a Summer Intern for an Assistant Project Engineer role in Austin, TX. The intern will assist the project team with administrative and engineering tasks across CMiC, PlanGrid, and document control.

The position targets undergraduate students, offering exposure to project management and field integration, with opportunities to learn schedules, RFIs, and procurement processes on active construction projects.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position designed for undergraduate students
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
• Basic scheduling understanding and CMiC familiarity
• Effective oral and written communication
• Knowledge of construction administration processes (RFIs, submittals, procurement)

Responsibilities

• Assist with job office setup and organization
• Set up CMiC: Submittal Log Registry and RFI Logs
• Create and maintain Submittal Logs and RFI Logs
• Set up PlanGrid for contract documents and organize project docs
• Log progress photos and upload via PlanGrid
• Enter RFIs into CMiC and distribute to team
• Post RFIs to contract documents and update as-builts
• Maintain Material Procurement Log and assist expediting materials
• Support project team with closeout documents (O&M manuals, as-builts)
• Attend project meetings and prepare distribution of minutes
• Create and organize closeout binders
• Assist in taking and distributing meeting minutes
