Job summary

LNP Media Group, publisher of LNP and LancasterOnline, seeks motivated journalism interns for Summer 2027. This paid, 12-week internship offers hands-on newsroom experience, with opportunities in news, features or sports teams and collaboration with editors and photographers in a fast-paced environment.

Interns will write, research and edit stories, conduct interviews and develop enterprise reporting ideas while meeting deadlines and learning newsroom operations in Lancaster County.

Qualifications

• Current college student or recent graduate pursuing journalism.
• Demonstrated interest in reporting, writing or related communications work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct interviews and interact professionally with diverse people.
• Close attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Willingness to accept feedback and improve through coaching.

Responsibilities

• Report, research and write accurate, engaging stories for LNP and LancasterOnline.
• Conduct interviews with community members, officials and sources.
• Cover breaking news, events and assignments as directed.
• Develop feature ideas and enterprise reporting relevant to Lancaster County.
• Gather information from multiple sources and verify for accuracy.
• Collaborate with editors to revise and strengthen stories for publication.
• Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Develop familiarity with digital journalism and online content.
• Work with reporters, editors and photographers to produce informative coverage.
