Job summary

State of South Dakota,Department of Game Fish and Parks, The Outdoor Campus–Sioux Falls, is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator Intern for the Summer session. The role supports a nearly 100-strong volunteer program, with hands-on outdoor work and community engagement.

Interns must be enrolled as part-time or full-time students and have completed at least one year of their program. Training is provided, and a proactive, outdoors-loving candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at the start of the internship.
• By internship start, complete one year (nine months) of the program.
• Open to all students; preference to SD residents and SD students.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and onboarding new volunteers.
• Assisting with volunteer orientations and training.
• Engaging and retaining current volunteers.
• Supporting volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts.
• Assisting with volunteer recruitment and outreach events.
• Coordinating volunteer projects and activities at The Outdoor Campus.
