NiSource is seeking a Summer Operations Intern for a 12-week program starting in May 2027. Based in Merrillville, IN or Hammond, IN, the internship offers hands-on experience across Electric Planning, GIS Environmental, and Continuous Improvement teams as you contribute to real projects and learn from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Major in GIS, Engineering, Accounting, Operations Management, Business Management or related discipline.
• Required GPA 3.0 and above.
• Experience working independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent analytical abilities, including process analysis and root‑cause analysis.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the operations work plan in support of Power Delivery.
• Assist in data collection and reports to monitor programs, work plans, operating budgets, and forecasts in support of Power Delivery.
• Support the GIS Environmental tasks at Merrillville, IN or Columbus, OH as needed.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives with the Transformation Office activities
