Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Columbus, OH, is hiring a Mechanical Intern for Summer 2027. Over 10–12 weeks you will work with experienced engineers on the analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for the building industry, gaining hands-on experience across commercial, education, and manufacturing projects.

You will support budgets, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and learn from a collaborative, employee‑owned team. Office-based internship with potential to convert to full-time.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years toward a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Skilled in AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Clear verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of mechanical systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment resources.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and provide other services required by the contract services agreement.
