Job summary

Alcon in Goleta, CA, invites mechanical and biomedical engineering students to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program. Gain hands-on experience across CAD design, 3D printing, metrology and lab testing while contributing to real projects with engineering teams.

You will receive coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities, working full-time for 10–12 weeks and collaborating with professionals across Alcon’s global eye care portfolio.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship and one additional semester after.
• Pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, biomedical, biomechanical, manufacturing, industrial, plastics engineering, or related major.
• Academic performance: Minimum GPA 2.8/4.0.
• Demonstrated leadership through activities or projects.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rapid prototypes through CAD design and 3D printing.
• Support mechanical assembly, lab testing, and metrology work.
• Contribute to design or process improvement for internship projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across locations.
