Position: Summer Maintenance Associate

Position type: Full Time (Temporary)

Position location (School): Memphis Street Academy Charter

Department: Facilities

Reports to: Facilities Coordinator

Employment status: Non-exempt


Position Summary

Performs work of a general maintenance nature in the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned by supervisor verbally, written or via the CMMS software in a timely and accurate manner; Includes but not limited to ceiling tile repair, minor plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, drywall and painting. Interior and exterior grounds maintenance. Assembling and repairing furniture and school supplies.

Moving and relocation of heavy furniture, supplies, equipment and deliveries. There is no elevator in the school.

Major Responsibilities

  • Clean and scrub restrooms as assigned
  • Prepare rooms for meetings and programs.
  • Work may involve the use of mechanical equipment.
  • Notifies supervisor concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilation equipment.
  • Employee works from verbal and written instructions and are expected to perform duties independently
  • *When required, performs work of a general custodial nature including mopping, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, emptying wastebaskets, washing windows, walls and woodwork. Removing garbage; changing light bulbs; unclogging drains; may shovel and salt walks as appropriate.
