Job summary

The McLean Group is offering a Summer M&A Analyst program that provides hands-on exposure to live middle-market transactions, including financial modeling, CIM preparation, and deal execution. You’ll work across industries and collaborate with senior bankers to understand how investments are evaluated and closed.

Interns gain end-to-end transaction experience from pitch development to final negotiations, with mentorship, structured training, and opportunities to advance to full-time roles upon

Qualifications

• Must be a rising college senior or entering the final year of a graduate program.
• Full-time, in-office commitment required; program runs May 30 - July 30.
• Strong academic performance in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related fields.
• Solid understanding of corporate finance, valuation methods, and financial statement analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; prior experience with financial modeling preferred.
• Excellent research, analytical, and quantitative skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
• Prior internship or relevant work experience in finance, consulting, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build detailed financial models and perform valuation analyses.
• Prepare confidential information memoranda (CIMs) and draft management presentations.
• Conduct company, industry, and buyer/seller research to support deal execution.
• Support due diligence, data room management, and client communications.
• Participate in live M&A transactions and assist in deal team discussions.
