Lifeguard Job Description

The primary responsibility of a Lifeguard is to ensure the safety of patrons at an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Responsibilities include enforcing pool rules fairly, maintaining proper pool water chemicals, record keeping, and keeping the facility clean and enjoyable. Lifeguards must report unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to their Supervisor.

Being a Seasonal Lifeguard is the PERFECT Summer Job! Pool schedules are flexible with summer vacations. Instead of a summer internship indoors, enjoy outdoor work, earn money, and develop lifelong skills. Remember, the role requires seriousness because someone's life might depend on YOU!

Lifeguard Requirements

• Minimum age of 15 by the hire date or last day of the lifeguard course
• Availability for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends (Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
• Availability to work all weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) throughout summer
• Professional conduct, attentiveness, and focus
• Current Nationally Approved Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid Certificates or ability to obtain before season start

Motivated and experienced Lifeguards with excellent customer service, organizational, and leadership skills may be considered for Pool Manager roles, with increased responsibilities and pay. Discuss this opportunity during your interview.

The season begins on Saturday, May 25, 2025, and ends on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Pay rate: $14/hr - $17/hr + Overtime (based on experience). Bonus and incentive opportunities available! Ask how to qualify for a $250 bonus!
