Job summary

The Town of Kearny is seeking Lifeguards for its Summer Open Swim Program, running from June 23 to August 22, 2026. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy outdoor work and community engagement while ensuring the safety of all pool visitors.

Job description

The Town of Kearny is currently seeking responsible, attentive, and safety-focused individuals to serve as Lifeguards for its Summer Open Swim Program. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with the community, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all pool patrons.

The summer program will run from June 23, 2026, through August 22, 2026. Lifeguards will be scheduled to work approximately 35 hours per week, including mandatory Saturday shifts. Candidates must be reliable and available for the full duration of the program.

Applicants must possess a valid Lifeguard Training certification as well as current CPR certification at the time of hire. Prior lifeguarding or aquatic experience is preferred but not required for qualified candidates who meet certification requirements.

Compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 to $21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
