Job summary

MacKay is seeking a full-time Land Survey Intern for 10-12 weeks in the summer of 2027 in Roseville, CA. You will assist in gathering and preparing supporting data for land survey projects under the Survey Manager, while embodying MacKay’s brand personality throughout service delivery.

You will work on field data collection, equipment calibration, and data organization, supporting cadastral, control, boundary, and hydrographic surveys, with travel between states as needed.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or enrolled in a surveying program, related field preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.2.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured to drive company vehicles.
• Willingness to travel to project locations in multiple states.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Adjust and calibrate tribrachs, tripods, and rods as needed.
• Maintain and operate survey equipment: data collectors, total stations, GPS with RTN/RTK, levels, scanners, and hydrographic systems.
• Compile and organize field data; maintain clear, legible field notes for cadastral, control, boundary, ALTA/platting, construction, and hydrographic surveys.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations in the field.
