Job description

Camp Hometown Heroes/Camp Reunite is seeking a fun, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual to assist in our kitchen and dining hall operations for all camp programs. This role involves working with the Program Director/Executive Director to serve meals, maintain cleanliness in the dining hall, and wash dishes. Kitchen assistants will provide leadership with volunteers and ensure a safe and healthy dining experience. Housing and three meals per day are provided.

Position dates: June 16th to August 1st.

Pay: $350 to $450 per week.

Responsibilities include:

1. Understanding and helping to implement the goals and mission of Turning Rivers.
2. Ensuring each camper has a safe, enjoyable, and inspiring camping experience.
3. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas.
4. Washing utensils, plates, cups, silverware, cookware, and hotel pans, and storing them properly.
5. Sorting, storing, and distributing food and ingredients appropriately.
6. Storing and keeping food at appropriate temperatures during serving and storage.
7. Disposing of all food and garbage after meals, including expired items or those kept out too long.
8. Cleaning all kitchen and dining hall service areas, floors, and keeping the facility tidy.
