Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. invites applications for a User Experience Designer Intern in New York. You will support the FIDS UX team to unify client-facing ICE apps and contribute to meaningful, user-centered designs.

You'll work with Figma, collaborate across disciplines, and participate in sessions with industry leaders while pursuing a UX-focused degree.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program in UX design, HCI, product design, or related field.
• Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and research methods.
• Interest in financial data, market infrastructure, or fintech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate user needs, business goals, and technical requirements into intuitive designs that integrate with ICE apps.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design wireframes, flow diagrams, prototypes, and specs.
• Conduct heuristic evaluation on existing apps to evolve designs.
• Define and communicate design standards.
• Perform additional duties and contribute to projects as assigned.

The ICE Internship Program offers a dynamic opportunity to combine hands-on, impactful work on projects that shape our business, alongside practical career and professional development. Beyond your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll participate in weekly sessions led by industry leaders, connect with fellow interns, and deepen your understanding of the financial services, technology, and mortgage industries.

The User Experience Designer Intern will support the FIDS UX team's work to unify the experience of client-facing ICE apps.

Responsibilities

• Translate user needs, business goals, and technical requirements into intuitive designs that integrate seamlessly with our ecosystem of applications
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to iteratively design wireframes, process flow diagrams, prototypes, and design specifications
• Conduct heuristic evaluation on existing applications to evolve designs
• Identify, define, and communicate design standards
• Perform additional duties and contribute to projects as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university, be at least advancing to their junior year of study, and pursuing a degree in UX design, human-computer interaction, product design, or a related field
• Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and research methods
• Interest in financial data, market infrastructure, or fintech is a plus

Internship Program Schedule

• Option 1: May 24, 2027 – August 6, 2027
• Option 2: June 7, 2027 – August 20, 2027

Candidates will be asked to select their preferred session during the application process.

Please Note: Interns must be available to work full-time, five days a week, at our New York (11 Wall Street) office for the entire duration of one of the designated program schedules. Partial participation or alternate dates cannot be accommodated.

Hourly Pay Rate for New York Candidates

The expected hourly rate for this role is $30 per hour.
