Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is offering a Data Science Intern program that blends hands-on work with learning in financial services, technology, and mortgage industries. You’ll support AI-driven research and develop quantitative models.

Two schedule options, May 24, 2027 - August 6, 2027 and June 7, 2027 - August 20, 2027, with full-time weekdays at the New York office. You’ll engage with mentors, review datasets, and validate models.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university and be at least advancing to their junior year of study.
• Interest in financial markets, with a drive to learn more about them.
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude, Codex, or Copilot, with an interest in learning more.
• Deep knowledge of Python with SQL.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the team to learn about all the tools and data sources
• Meet with business partners and contribute to projects that drive significant value
• Use AI tools to research, prototype, and validate quantitative models for financial data products
• Analyze structured and alternative datasets to uncover relationships with financial markets
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to model market behavior and pricing
• Perform additional duties and contribute to projects as assigned

Beyond your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll participate in weekly sessions led by industry leaders, connect with fellow interns, and deepen your understanding of the financial services, technology, and mortgage industries.

The Data Science Intern will support the team's use of AI tools to research and develop quantitative models and explore new data sources that provide insight into financial markets.

Responsibilities

Internship Program Schedule

To accommodate varying academic calendars, the ICE Internship Program offers two schedule options:

• Option 1: May 24, 2027 - August 6, 2027
• Option 2: June 7, 2027 - August 20, 2027

Candidates will be asked to select their preferred session during the application process.

Please Note: Interns must be available to work full-time, five days a week, at our New York (11 Wall Street) office for the entire duration of one of the designated program schedules. Partial participation or alternate dates cannot be accommodated.

Hourly Pay Rate for New York Candidates

The expected hourly rate for this role is $35 per hour.
