Job summary

ICE's Internship Program offers a dynamic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in regulatory surveillance within NYSE Regulation, NYSE's market oversight arm. You will join a team embedded in day-to-day operations, building skills across data analysis and financial systems while supporting impactful projects.

The internship runs in New York with full-time hours, five days per week, at the 11 Wall Street office.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university and advancing to junior year.
• Interest in finance; leadership in campus securities/portfolio groups.
• Proficiency in Excel; exposure to SQL or Python or Bloomberg certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate key systems underpinning regulatory surveillance.
• Assess order and trading activity and investigate potentially improper trading.
• Review exchange rules and securities laws to understand the regulatory framework.
• Research and compile data to support ad hoc NYSE Regulation projects.
• Perform additional duties and contribute to projects as assigned.

Beyond your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll participate in weekly sessions led by industry leaders, connect with fellow interns, and deepen your understanding of the financial services, technology, and mortgage industries.

The Market Regulation Intern will be embedded in NYSE Regulation's day-to-day operations, gaining exposure to regulatory surveillance workflows, systems, and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate key systems underlying regulatory surveillance and Exchange operations
• Assess order and trading activity and investigate potentially improper trading through data analysis
• Review exchange rules and securities laws to understand the regulatory framework
• Research and compile data as directed by NYSE Regulation staff, supporting ad hoc projects as needed
• Perform additional duties and contribute to projects as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university and be at least advancing to their junior year of study, with coursework in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, financial analytics, quantitative finance, mathematical finance, or financial engineering
• Demonstrated interest in the finance industry (e.g., leadership in a campus club related to securities analysis or portfolio management)
• Proficiency in Excel, with exposure to basic coding (SQL or Python) or financial systems (e.g., Bloomberg certification) a plus

Internship Program Schedule

To accommodate varying academic calendars, the ICE Internship Program offers two schedule options:

• Option 1: May 24, 2027 – August 6, 2027
• Option 2: June 7, 2027 – August 20, 2027

Candidates will be asked to select their preferred session during the application process.

Please Note: Interns must be available to work full-time, five days a week, at our New York (11 Wall Street) office for the entire duration of one of the designated program schedules. Partial participation or alternate dates cannot be accommodated.

Hourly Pay Rate for New York Candidates

The expected hourly rate for this role is $30 per hour.
