Job summary

Wintrust Financial Corporation invites applicants to join its 12-week Commercial Banking Internship in Holland, Michigan. The program runs May through August, 40 hours per week, paid at $19.00 per hour, in person.

As an intern, you will learn to analyze credit, spread financial statements, and assist with loan approvals while building a professional network in a community banking environment.

Qualifications

• Concentrations in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Must be able to work in person in Holland, Michigan.
• Authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (no immigration sponsorship).
• Currently enrolled in a U.S. college/university, preference for juniors/seniors.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with colleagues to meet business objectives and priorities defined by the commercial line.
• Learn approval process for commercial loans.
• Analyze credit and financial information to determine risk of extending credit.
• Spread balance sheets and income statements in financial statement spreading software.
• Underwrite and present a Credit Approval Presentation for annual reviews and renewals.
