Job summary

Summit Point Roofing is seeking a motivated, hardworking student for a summer internship in Ada, MI. This temporary, summer-only role offers hands-on experience in roofing with opportunities for advancement. No prior roofing experience is required, just a strong work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities include assisting roofers, handling materials, setting up safety equipment, and learning various roofing systems. Physical tasks and occasional weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; construction training is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• OSHA 10, First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willing to work weekends/holidays and follow safety rules.

• Assist experienced roofers with removing old roofing materials.
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment.
• Set up safety equipment (ladders, harnesses, scaffolding).
• Clean up job sites before, during, and after installations.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
• Learn to install various roofing systems (shingles, metal, etc.).
• Carry and lift roofing materials (may be up to 50 lbs or more).
• Work at heights and on sloped surfaces.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated, hard-working individual to join our roofing crew for the summer season. This is a temporary, summer-only position, ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience during their break. No prior experience in roofing is required-just a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to show up on time and ready to work. This role offers the chance to build valuable skills in the trades. For the right person, there may be opportunities for continued employment, training, and advancement beyond the summer season.

Requirements:

Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays

Ability to lift 80#

Ability to perform tasks that require climbing, lifting heavy materials, and working at heights.
