Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is offering a paid full-time hybrid internship for the summer (May–August 2027) at the Cranberry Township facility. The New Plant Licensing intern will support licensing and regulatory strategy for new nuclear plant development, reporting to the New Plants Licensing Manager within Global Licensing.

Responsibilities include developing licensing procedures, evaluating inputs, and coordinating with engineering and customers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or nuclear engineering.
• Completed Sophomore year of college.
• Interest in licensing and regulatory strategy for nuclear plants.

About the role:

As a New Plant Licensing intern, you will directly support the help deploy advanced nuclear technology, with a focus on Advanced Plant reactor projects. You will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the licensing and regulatory strategy for new nuclear plant development, ensuring compliance with domestic and international standards.

You will report to the New Plants Licensing Manager as part of the Global Licensing department. This position is located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
