Job summary

First Merchants Corporation invites high-potential college students to participate in a 12-week paid Summer Internship Program. The Model Risk Management internship offers hands-on project work, exposure to governance practices, and collaboration with risk professionals.

You'll gain experience across model governance, AI governance, and reporting for management forums, while developing skills in risk assessment, documentation, and stakeholder communication during a structured internship with

Qualifications

• Be a full-time Bachelor (or higher) degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week from May 17 - August 6, 2027.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have demonstrated interest in the industry and/or specific area of interest.
• Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Be able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Model Risk Management team in governance and risk initiatives.
• Assist with model inventory updates and documentation.
• Develop reporting materials for management and governance forums.
• Engage in AI governance reviews and policy alignment.
