Job summary

The Summer Intern, Mechanical at Providence Engineering will assist with routine engineering work on projects of varying sizes under the supervision of experienced engineers. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical design and analysis.

Responsibilities include supporting calculations, attending meetings, and documenting work. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering and are in their junior year, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis, or a closely related field is required.
  • Junior year status in degree program.
  • Completed coursework in mechanical design, preferable for buildings.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, or similar company-approved mechanical analysis software in concert with hand-written calculations.
  • Ability to present hand-written calculations in an organized and legible manner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate project records.

  • Assist with multiple, concurrent projects for various project managers, and sometimes for other branches
  • Develop communications skills through correspondence and coordination with internal clients
  • Attend design meetings, construction meetings, and site visits with experienced engineer
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
