Job summary

Department of Health - Division of Family & Community Health in South Dakota seeks an Intern for the Office of Lifespan Health during Summer sessions (May–August) in Sioux Falls, Brookings, Huron, or Aberdeen. The role supports educational materials, policy research, and grant reporting for staff serving clients.

Enrollment as a college/tech institute student is required, with preference for juniors/seniors and SD residents or SD-affiliated institutions.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• All students are encouraged to apply, with preference to juniors/seniors, and South Dakota residents or SD institution students.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and developing educational materials for partners and/or the public.
• Research to support policy updates, quality improvement projects, and trainings for staff that provide direct services to clients.
• Assisting staff to gather information for the development of state and federal grant reports.
