Job summary

GM is offering a summer internship in Supply Chain and Procurement in Missouri. You will source parts and support logistics for GM vehicles and future EV products, working with cross-functional teams and suppliers to balance cost, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the listed fields and expected to graduate between December 2027 and August 2029.
  • Must be able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer.
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Previous purchasing, logistics, or supply chain internship experience preferred.
  • Curiosity and aptitude for learning AI-enabled tools preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Workspace preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Source key parts, systems, and technologies for GM vehicles and future EV products.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to balance cost, quality, timing, and innovation.
  • Plan and support vehicle and propulsion production to ensure plants have the right parts at the right time.
  • Use data to manage demand, material changes, and daily supply chain operations.
  • Support inbound and outbound logistics from plants to customers.
  • Help design packaging, routes, and logistics solutions to reduce cost and improve delivery performance.
  • Contribute to value chain, sustainability, aftermarket, and supplier resiliency projects.
  • Gain exposure to strategy, planning GM Energy, and new supply chain business models.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration, networking, volunteering, and team-building activities.

Requirements
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Packaging, Purchasing, Procurement/Acquisitions and Contract Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, General Engineering, Business Analytics, or Management Information Systems
  • Must be graduating between December 2027 and August 2029
  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months
