Job summary

Egon Zehnder’s summer internship offers hands-on exposure to executive search and leadership advisory. Interns join as generalists, supporting live client assignments across industries, while learning how teams assess markets and leadership talent. You will contribute to research and search execution under the guidance of experienced professionals.

The program combines onboarding, training, mentorship, and a capstone project, with opportunities across U.S. offices including Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and interest in understanding companies, industries, people and leadership.
• Clear written and verbal communication with attention to confidentiality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
• Willingness to ask questions and learn through hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Support live executive search assignments through company and industry research, market mapping, and candidate identification.
• Build and refine target-company and candidate lists using firm resources and available research tools.
• Analyze and synthesize information to support search strategy and decision-making.
• Prepare internal and client materials, including research summaries, profiles, presentations, trackers, and related documentation.
• Participate in internal search-team discussions and observe consultant or client conversations.
• Work across industries and practice areas, aligned with project needs and your interests.
• Build relationships with mentors and colleagues across the firm.
• Complete onboarding and training related to executive search, firm tools, research, and professional development.
• Complete a capstone project addressing a real business need and producing a reusable output.
