Job summary

NextEra Energy invites students to join our Summer Intern - Engineering program in Florida. This internship offers hands-on engineering experience across projects, with mentors, networking, and opportunities to contribute to real solutions for a leading energy company.

During the 10-week program, interns develop technical, analytical, and communication skills while supporting engineering teams, analyzing data, and presenting findings to leadership. Housing and travel may be arranged as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Maintain active enrollment in a bachelor’s or higher degree program.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to complete a minimum 10-week internship, beginning no later than June 1.

Responsibilities

• Assists Engineering teams with assigned projects, technical analyses, and engineering activities.
• Analyzes technical, operational, and performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Supports development, evaluation, testing, and implementation of engineering solutions.
• Assists with engineering calculations, models, drawings, specifications, reports, or documentation.
• Participates in project planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Works with engineers, technicians, operations teams, and cross-functional business partners.
• Helps evaluate equipment, systems, processes, or technologies.
• Identifies opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, or performance.
• Contributes to meaningful projects that address real business and technical challenges.
• Develops technical, analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills through hands‑on experience.
• Presents project work, findings, and recommendations to team members and leadership.
