Job summary

Allegion invites a Summer Intern in Digital Manufacturing to Colorado Springs to help develop and support MES software, dashboards, and data flows across enterprise systems.

You will work with senior engineers, build Power BI reports, and refine requirements while contributing to shop floor modernization. Candidates should be pursuing CS/SE with a 3.0+ GPA and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, SE, CIS, MIS, or Computer Engineering.
• Coursework or projects in an object-oriented language; C#/.NET preferred; Java or C++ acceptable with ability to learn C#.
• Fundamental understanding of relational databases and SQL queries.
• Strong curiosity and ability to learn new domains quickly.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.

• Create, edit and optimize Power BI reports and data models for plant visibility.

Summer Intern, Digital Manufacturing

The Digital Manufacturing Intern is responsible for the development and support of software solutions that drive our digital manufacturing initiatives and shop floor modernization. As a Digital Manufacturing Intern, you will work closely with senior engineers, business stakeholders, and plant operations to deliver software enhancements for our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), build analytics dashboards, and streamline data flows across enterprise systems.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

What You Will Do:

• Develop and test new application features, components, and bug fixes using C# and .NET.
• Create, edit, and optimize Power BI reports and data models to enhance visibility and enable data-driven decision-making for plant managers and machine operators.
• Partner directly with manufacturing end-users to refine functional requirements, support user acceptance testing, and set up/configure digital screens on the shop floor.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to manipulate, validate, and retrieve data from relational database systems.
• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and adhere to quality coding standards and code review practices.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated coursework or project experience in an object-oriented programming (OOP) language (knowledge of C# / .NET preferred; Java or C++ acceptable with aptitude to learn C#).
• Fundamental understanding of relational databases and hands-on experience writing SQL queries (data definition and data manipulation).
• Strong technical curiosity and ability to quickly learn new business domains and digital manufacturing tools.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

The expected Base Hourly Range: $25-$26/hour . The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
