Summer Intern - Compliance (ID: NAT0000008K)

We are recruiting for Summer Interns to join the Compliance Department.

Opportunity

This internship position is for an individual beginning or finishing year one or year two of a JD program. Intern associates will gain and use experience in both the technical and operational sides of compliance-related issues. Generally, the intern associate will work on compliance matters for the Health Compliance or Retirement Compliance Practice Leaders. In other cases, they may work on a project basis on a particular client‑related compliance matter.

Projects

• Researching and drafting memos on technical issues for the Compliance Practice Leaders; researching new regulations, legislation or other policy developments.
• Preparing client‑specific memos and documents.
• Other tasks as requested by the Compliance Practice Leader or National Compliance Staff.
• Attending both internal and external meetings.

Candidates

• Enrollment in a JD program.
• Beginner knowledge of ERISA and related legislation and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written).
• Excellent interpersonal/relationship‑building skills and ability to collaborate with and positively influence others.
• Ability to quickly and effectively perform research involving federal and state legal issues.
