Job summary

RGA is seeking an Actuarial Intern in Missouri to gain hands-on experience within our life- and health-focused insurance operations. You will assist in implementing actuarial models, manage data analyses, and contribute to process improvements under guidance from seasoned professionals.

The internship emphasizes initiative, analytical thinking, and strong communication as you balance attention to detail with department objectives, while collaborating with diverse teams across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in math, finance, actuarial sciences, statistics or related field.
  • Strong PC and technical skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change; takes initiative.
  • Ability to multitask and balance detail with department goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; strong analytical skills.

Overview:

The RGA Summer Internship Program is committed to providing students with meaningful work and a chance to gain a wide knowledge of the insurance industry and to network with fellow interns and full-time associates. Actuarial Intern duties will vary by hiring department.

Responsibilities:

Sample projects and duties include:

  • Assist in implementing and/or maintaining actuarial models.
  • Manipulate, summarize, and/or analyze large amounts of data.
  • Assist in developing, enhancing, and automating processes.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other RGA departments.
Requirements:
  • Progress toward completion of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field.
  • Intermediate PC and technical skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Takes initiative and is accountable.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to balance detail with department goals and objectives.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Complex analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, and participate in department projects.
  • At least one Actuarial Exam passed is preferred.
