Job summary

Missouri River Energy Services in Iowa is seeking a student for a full-time summer position at the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project in Pella. The role runs from mid-May through mid-August and provides hands-on training in hydroelectric power generation and plant operations.

The student will assist with operating procedures, warehouse organization, and general housekeeping, while supporting RRHP operations and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and written and verbal instructions.
• Able to interact and communicate effectively with co-workers and the public.

Responsibilities

• Review and revise plant operating procedures as needed.
• Develop lock out tag out templates for major equipment in the plant.
• Continue organizing the warehouse.
• General housekeeping duties as needed.
• Support RRHP operations, maintenance activities, and other project needs.
• Receive training in the fundamentals of hydroelectric power generation.
