Job summary

SPRINGFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking All Schools- Paraprofessional: High School Developmental Skills Paraprofessionals for Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program. This contingent summer position reports to the Building Principal or designee and requires availability for the entire program schedule from July 6 to July 30, 2026, with duties including instructional assistance and clerical tasks.

The ideal candidate is presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in SPRINGFIELD PUBLIC

Qualifications

• Presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools.
• Has not received a layoff notice.
• Preference for paraprofessionals currently working in the same program.
• Preference for those who have worked in the extended year program to support continuity.
• Availability required for the entire program schedule.
• Must have a secured position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance under the direction of the teacher.
• Perform clerical tasks such as preparing, duplicating, and distributing materials.
• Assist in feeding during lunch and snack periods.
• Feed, diaper, and assist with personal hygiene as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Site Coordinator of the summer program.
