Job summary

Edconic is seeking a Health and Wellness Specialist for Minnesota to support pre-college program students in socioemotional wellbeing. The role requires leadership, experience with youth, and CPR certification, with a focus on inclusive student support and resilience-building.

The position involves coordinating resources, assessing needs, and providing individual coaching and group sessions while being on-call and working weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field (New York preferred).
• Experience working with children or youth.
• Must be CPR Certified.
• Ability to make decisions and take initiative under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resources and support services for students in need prioritizing socioemotional wellness.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ needs and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide psychoeducation on socioemotional health topics such as mindfulness and resilience.
• Offer individualized coaching to help students set and achieve wellbeing goals.
• Facilitate group sessions on mindfulness, communication, stress management, and healthy relationships.
• Participate in disciplinary meetings and provide input on interventions.
• Assist in navigating challenges and developing coping mechanisms.
