Job summary

Wa-Nee Community Schools seeks a Part-Time Custodian/Summer Grounds worker to ensure building cleanliness and site maintenance. The role reports to the Head Custodian and involves restroom sanitation, floor care, and event setup in a school setting.

Responsibilities include grounds upkeep, snow removal when needed, and enforcing safety policies. This is a seasonal, non-exempt position with about 8 hours per day across roughly 100 days, requiring flexibility and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must be team oriented and able to effectively deal with people.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be willing to work various shifts or be called out after hours.
• Candidates are subject to criminal background checks as well as periodic checks of their driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms using established practices and procedure.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
• Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
