Job summary

Kiewit invites ambitious students to join its South Central District in a hands-on internship that develops core construction management skills across field and office activities. You will participate in planning, scheduling, procurement, and cost control while learning from experienced professionals in a dynamic project environment.

As an undergraduate or graduate student in civil engineering or construction management, you will contribute to real projects across the region, travel or relocate

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related (must be available for summer).
• Ability to travel or relocate as needed for project assignments.
• Available to work full-time during the summer (approximately May–August).
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and integrity, with a focus on safety.
• Excellent ethics and teamwork in a fast-paced, field environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning and cost control support.
• Assist with project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement and site documentation.
• Support supervision of field activities and adherence to plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Support safety practices and incident investigations as needed.
• Maintain records of progress, costs and resource usage.
