Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Summer Intern to join the Core Growth Team in Boston for a 10-week equity research internship. You will work directly with the Portfolio Manager and four analysts, launching coverage on two companies and presenting investment ideas to the team.

The role emphasizes hands-on fundamental research, financial modeling, and development of presentation skills in a professional buy‑side setting. This in‑person internship runs June‑August.

Qualifications

• Current MBA student with interest in equity investing and 1–2 years of investing experience prior to grad school.
• Strong analytical thinker with a passion for fundamental research and valuation.
• Collaborative and eager to learn from investment professionals in a buy-side environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Available to work in person in the Boston office five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Learn the Investment Process and apply it to U.S. equities.
• Conduct fundamental research on companies, assessing quality, growth, and risks.
• Initiate coverage on two companies and present ideas to the team.
• Deliver presentations to the Core Growth team and incorporate feedback.
• Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager and analysts to support research initiatives.
• Develop financial modeling and data analysis skills using research platforms.
