Job summary

American Electric Power invites motivated students to join our Summer Internship Program in Corpus Christi, TX for 10–12 weeks. Interns receive a $1,500/month housing stipend for longer moves and gain hands-on experience with seasoned engineers on enterprise projects.

You will build data-driven skills, participate in field visits, and contribute to design reviews while learning in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Must have completed freshman year and be eligible for an internship in Summer 2027 or later.
• Graduation date December 2027 or later; 18+ years old; willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams and engineers on planning, designing and executing projects.
• Participate in design reviews, training sessions and constructability assessments.
• Assist with field visits, data analyses, dashboards and cost estimates.
• Support documentation for decision-making and safety improvements.
