Job summary

Dubak Electrical Group in La Grange Park, Illinois, invites motivated students to join a 10-week Summer Internship as an Electrical Design Intern. You will help design, draft, and coordinate power distribution and low-voltage systems, from service entrance to branch circuits.

Gain hands-on experience in controls engineering within an industrial electrical construction setting, working with senior designers and mentors to develop practical design skills and NEC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college with solid GPA.
• GPA minimum 3.2.
• Basic understanding of circuit theory and power systems.
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Revit is a plus but not required.
• Comfortable with Excel and eager to learn NEC.

Responsibilities

• Draft one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and power plans in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform NEC calculations including feeder sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and service load calculations.
• Model conduit, cable tray, and equipment in Revit; assist BIM/VDC coordination.
• Support structured cabling and low-voltage layouts, including pathways and rack elevations.
• Prepare submittal packages and redline markups with Project Management interns.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews of drawings and learn IFM-grade drawing package checks.
• Develop bills of materials for EDC assemblies.
