Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern to join the Space development organization as part of a full-time program. The role involves supporting a scrum team, contributing to agile software development, and delivering mission-critical software across multiple operating systems including Linux and Windows.

The successful candidate will have Java and/or Python experience, be pursuing a CS degree, and must be a US citizen capable of obtaining a government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• Java and/or Python development experience.
• Applicants selected must be a US Citizen, will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance required for this role.
• Knowledge of COTS/FOSS integration and support.
• Ability to troubleshoot and navigate multiple operating system environments (Linux/Windows).
• Experience with agile development and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Planning, conducting, and coordinating agile software development activities.
• Designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software with logical and mathematical solutions to mission issues.
• Applying standards, processes, and tools across the development life cycle.
• Leveraging knowledge of computer hardware and software to develop software for mission applications.
• Correcting program errors, documenting development, and analyzing system capabilities to meet requirements.
